Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Surveying and Mapping Department, overseeing project planning, execution, and delivery
Develop and implement departmental strategies, goals, and objectives to enhance productivity and efficiency
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in surveying and mapping
Oversee the training and professional development of department staff, fostering continuous learning
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders on cross‑functional initiatives and projects
Manage departmental budgets, resources, and timelines for successful project completion
Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance surveying and mapping services
Serve as a key client contact, addressing inquiries and resolving issues to maintain strong relationships
Prepare and present reports on departmental performance, project outcomes, and strategic initiatives to senior management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field
State of Florida Professional Surveyor License (PS) or equivalent certification
Minimum 15 years of surveying and mapping experience, including 10 years in a leadership role
Proficiency in platting, boundary, ALTA, topographic, legal descriptions, construction layout, and as‑built surveys
Ability to leverage scanning and point‑cloud data for innovation and efficiency
Expertise in advanced tools and software to streamline processes and deliver high‑quality results
Forward‑thinking mindset focused on continuous technology improvement
Capability to manage field crews and office CAD staff, conduct survey calculations, and ensure quality control
Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, geospatial technologies, and mapping software
Proven project management skills for simultaneous multiple projects
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams and clients
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Proficiency in GIS software and other relevant tools
Experience marketing and maintaining client relationships in the South Florida Tri‑County area
Salary: $125,000 - $170,000 per year
