Texas NeuroRehab is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres and has operated as a medical and behavioral healthcare facility for over 60 years.
Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applications for Speech‑Language Pathologists – PRN schedule. There are opportunities in our Long Term Acute Care (LTAC), Inpatient Rehab, and Post‑Acute Brain Injury (PABI) programs, weekdays and weekends.
Candidates will possess skills in the rehabilitation of neurologically impaired patients, with proficiency in the evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
Texas NeuroRehab Center specializes in provision of rehabilitation services to traumatic and non‑traumatic brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury populations, ages 13 and older.

Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of adolescent and adult speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, and treatment strategies associated with brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological disorders.
Education:
M.A., M.S., M.Ed., SLPD, or Ph.D. in Speech‑Language Pathology
Licensure:
Current SLP licensure in the State of Texas. Certification in CPR.
Experience:
Two years in a neurorehabilitation setting.
Physical / General Requirements:
Able to sustain activity eight hours a day, remain on feet eight hours a day, confront a dangerous and aggressive patient, verbally communicate to de‑escalate a crisis situation, explain treatment that encourages active participation, protect self and others, restrain patients per facility policy, lift, carry, and lower up to 50 pounds without assistance, kneel, stoop, bend, pull various weights, push patients in wheelchairs up and down hills, pursue running patients, traverse hospital grounds, transfer patients to and from wheelchairs, observe patient behavior, write legibly, read medical records, use hands repetitively, maintain regular attendance, and possess sufficient hearing and vision to perform essential job functions.
