Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi‑state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse. Job Duties

Medication Administration

Assessment of Inmate Medical Complaints

Provide Nursing Care of Inmates Admitted to the Infirmary. In addition to providing general nursing care, this position ensures the physician orders are fulfilled and departmental policies and procedures are followed.

Position-Specific Details Appointment Type:

PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.

An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.

This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment should a permanent position become available.

Compensation This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. There is also premium pay at a rate of $5.00 per hour for each hour worked, in addition to regular pay.

Registered Nurse 1 has an SER of $29.84 per hour.

Registered Nurse 2 has an SER of $31.93 per hour.

Registered Nurse 3 has an SER of $34.17 per hour.

Career Progression Group CATEGORY: REGISTERED NURSE 1, 2, or 3. Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant. Salary depends on level of experience. IMPORTANT:

This is a 24‑hour facility.
