Responsibilities
SCREENING OF APPLICANTS BEGINS IMMEDIATELY AND CONTINUES UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED
The Activities /Music/Recreational Therapist role is designed to provide activities therapy to both residential populations, and therapeutic outings to clients within residential settings. Additionally, the Activities/Recreational Therapist has a responsibility for communicating findings and progress as a member of the treatment team, maintaining regulatory compliance and policy and procedure development for activities.

Qualifications Skills:
Strong organizational and communication skills, working knowledge of personal computer, ability to maintain confidentiality. Able to complete required paperwork according to established protocol and regulatory agency requirements. Must be able to maintain professional and appropriate boundaries with clients and families. Ability to act professionally in high stress situations. Must possess high level of knowledge of alternative therapeutic interventions through the use of planned activities.
Education/Experience:
Requires certification in one of the following: Recreation Therapist (CTRS), Art, Music, or Dance Movement Certification. Position requires a valid Colorado driver's license with a good driving record. College degree required. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Passing a background check and drug screen are required to work at Cedar Springs Hospital.
Physical Requirements
Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds.
Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
Requires frequent pushing, pulling of heavy loads, kneeling, grasping, stooping and bending.
Ability to maintain patient and corporate confidentiality.
Must be able to speak, read and write.
Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Requires repetitive use of hands and light lowering of objects.
