NY Speaks specializes in addressing language development, communication, and the unique challenges faced by English Language Learners (ELLs). Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Speech Language Pathologist located in New York, NY. The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and provide interventions for communication disorders, speech‑related issues, and language development challenges. The role involves creating and implementing tailored therapy plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to meet individual student needs. The SLP will also support culturally diverse students, including English Language Learners (ELLs), to foster their academic success.
Qualifications
Strong background in Speech Therapy and expertise in Speech‑related interventions
Experience addressing Dysphagia and Communication Disorders
Proficiency in assessing and treating Language Disorders
Excellent diagnostic, documentation, and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with culturally responsive practices and bilingual assessments is preferred
Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology and current valid license or certification in New York State
ASHA Certification (CCC‑SLP) is strongly preferred
Experience working with school‑aged children, including English Language Learners (ELLs), is a plus
