Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing as a Lactation Consultant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert support and education to new mothers and families, promoting successful breastfeeding practices and addressing individual needs with compassion and professionalism. Your expertise will empower families during one of the most important times in their lives, ensuring they receive personalized guidance rooted in evidence-based practices.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive assessments of postpartum mothers’ breastfeeding needs, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations.
Develop individualized lactation plans, offering hands-on support with techniques such as proper latch, positioning, and milk expression.
Educate families on breastfeeding benefits, nutrition, and infant feeding techniques while addressing common challenges like latch issues or low milk supply.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) to document patient interactions accurately and maintain detailed medical records.
Provide guidance on related topics such as infant care, maternal health, and postpartum recovery.
Educate on pumping, proper flange sizing, and milk supply storage guidelines.
Qualifications
Valid RN license in the state of FL with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
IBCLC with current certification
Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication to educate and empower families effectively.
Ability to work independently after training period
