Position Summary Vanderbilt Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our nationally ranked rehabilitation team at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. This full‑time role offers the opportunity to provide specialized care to children with complex speech, language, and swallowing disorders in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Job Details Title : Pediatric Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location : Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt – Nashville, TN

Schedule : Full‑Time | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with speech‑language, feeding/swallowing, and cognitive‑communication disorders in an outpatient setting (3 days/week).

Conduct Video‑Fluoroscopic Swallow Studies (VFSS) in both outpatient and inpatient settings (2 days/week).

Provide therapy for children with complex medical conditions including dysphagia, tracheostomy, cleft palate, craniofacial disorders, and traumatic brain injury.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to deliver comprehensive care.

Educate families and caregivers on therapy strategies, progress, and home programs.

Document patient outcomes and support discharge planning using My Health at Vanderbilt/MyChart.

Analyze comprehensive information from assessments to determine a rehabilitation treatment diagnosis.

Collaborate with stakeholders to establish plans of care and coordinate care delivery.

Apply evidence‑based interventions and re‑evaluate performance to assess progress toward goals.

Employ strategies to promote successful return to home, community, and school/vocational environments.

Supervise graduate students by providing instruction and guidance to ensure competent patient care and documentation.

Participate in quality improvement activities and collaborate with the clinical practice team to achieve patient outcomes and system objectives.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Active or eligible Tennessee SLP License.

American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP).

Experience in pediatric feeding and swallowing therapy.

Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
