Maintenance Mechanic responsible for repairs, installation, adjustment, and maintenance of industrial production and facility-related equipment.

Essential Job Functions

Repair and maintain electronic equipment, ensuring fine‑tuning, adjustment, and operation.

Servicing and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment using electrical and mechanical principles.

Inspect equipment to identify causes of errors or defects and ensure accurate assembly and installation.

Collect and analyze information from all relevant sources.

Repair, replace, adjust, and align components of machinery.

Clean and lubricate parts of equipment and machinery; perform scheduled preventive maintenance.

Watch and respond to gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure proper machine operation.

Determine and perform routine maintenance and identify when specialized maintenance is needed.

Install equipment, machines, or wiring to meet specifications.

Apply plumbing and electrical skills as required.

Maintain basic electronic systems.

Operate forklift as needed.

Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Demonstrate basic computer skills.

Follow safety and FOD compliance guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience

Maintain sensitive and confidential information as per government standards.

Interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and the public.

Adhere to workplace rules.

Minimum two plus years of related maintenance experience.

Minimum one year experience with CNC‑controlled equipment.

Must supply basic hand tools up to 1 inch.

Read detailed prints.

Knowledge of electronic equipment and power tools.

Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, computer hardware/software, and programming applications.

Solid electrical background.

Valid forklift operator permit.

Valid driver’s license.

Basic computer skills.

Education and Experience

High school graduate or equivalent.

Vocational degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Shop floor environment.

Ability to stand and sit for long periods.

Perform repetitive motion tasks.

Lift up to 50 pounds.

Tolerate constant noise.

Work safely with hazardous chemicals and conditions.

Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment.

Problem Solving, Decision Making, and Special Knowledge/Skills

Confer with operators, observe, test, and evaluate machinery to diagnose malfunctions.

Examine work orders and recognize mechanical or human errors.

Arrange test runs of repaired equipment to verify repairs.

Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications to determine installation procedures.

Apply troubleshooting to determine causes of operating errors.

Use critical thinking to assess strengths and weaknesses of possible solutions.
