Executive Search Professional within the Oil, Gas, Convenience Store, and Retail Industries Scope :

This position directs the organization's financial affairs and prepares financial analyses of operations, including monthly financial statements and reports, for management's guidance. The Controller is responsible for company accounting practices, maintaining fiscal records, and preparing federal and state tax returns.

Responsibilities :

Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

Coordinate and capture funding for new growth and acquisitions.

Familiarity with PDI and back-office integration systems.

Determine the company’s Key Performance Indicators and compare them with industry standards.

Strong understanding of fuel pricing structure and maximizing profit margins.

Establish and monitor accounts receivable and collections procedures.

Maintain the company's system of accounts and keep books and records on all company transactions and assets.

Analyze and develop new opportunities for additional revenue sources within the energy space.

Prepare monthly financial reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, earnings, and cash flow.

Responsible for compliance with all federal and state sales and excise tax regulations and forecast future tax implications.

Develop document retention policies and coordinate the destruction of old records, including electronic files.

Prepare monthly journal entries and schedules which include bank reconciliation, inventory and excise tax adjustments, recurring journals, and other general journal entries necessary for the completion of monthly financial reports. Maintain expense and fixed assets documents for year‑end compilation, fuel and non‑fuel reconciliation.

Prepare invoices and supervise receivables for the company.

Prepare payables and manage cash flow for the company.

Must be able to multi‑task and step in to direct additional department support as needed.

Coordinate annual workers' compensation audit, as well as other governmental compliance or tax audits when notified.

Qualifications :

BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related major.

5+ years of experience in financial management.

Experience in the oil & gas downstream industry.

Experience in financial analysis.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Must have excellent knowledge of Accounting Software.
