Job Overview Christian Community Health Center Amani House program assists homeless children and youth ages 0‑18 and adult women ages 18 and over. The Residential Support Worker provides daily monitoring and coordination of activities for families within the shelter.

Pay Range Base pay: $17.00 /hr – $18.00 /hr.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years experience in the social services field.

Experience serving homeless, victims of domestic violence and/or substance abuse populations is preferred.

Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and a reliable automobile.

Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, database, Internet communications.

Knowledge of or facility with Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is strongly preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including grammar and active listening.

Ability to write clear, accurate notes and complete documentation thoroughly.

Fluent in English.

Food Service Certification.

Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Physical demands include lifting up to 35 lb, bending, climbing stairs, carrying heavy items, standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

Complete client‑related forms (intake, departure, referrals, daily activity, medication log).

Communicate with staff via log book and/or email.

Track shift activities in a detailed log.

Conduct groups, activities, and life‑skills training.

Distribute toiletries and supplies; maintain bed count and shelter night count.

Document meal times, snack times, and chore activities.

Perform clerical duties: answer calls, file, make copies.

Distribute and tally resident satisfaction surveys.

Complete turn‑away reports daily.

Cook when necessary; clean rooms and facility as needed.

Check rooms, perform bag checks at entry.

Accompany participants on outings; attend house meetings.

Organize donation room; prepare rooms for move‑in and move‑out.

Supervise medication self‑administration.

Drive company van when needed; conduct fire drills.

Submit requested time off through HR database.

Work flexible shifts; night, weekend hours, holidays required.

Assure facility coverage; perform mandated reports for DCFS as necessary.

Respond to medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather emergencies per established procedures.

Attend professional workshops, seminars, program meetings as scheduled.

Perform other duties as directed by Program Director.
