Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register and provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, demonstrating interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service; recommend items for sale; register purchases, process returns, refunds, exchanges, and voids; and take customer to OTC aisle when possible.
Maintain counters, shelves, and merchandise; conduct inventory and maintain records; price merchandise as directed.
Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, checking for interactions, and assisting pharmacists in scheduling and workflow.
Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty; follow company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program; review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policy during prescription dispensing activities.
Handle telephone calls, including those to physicians, that do not require pharmacist attention.
Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third‑party prescription services efficiently; perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Assist Pharmacy Department with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals; file claims for overages, shortages, or damage.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions as directed.
Assist with food segregation and product placement; perform stock rotation.
Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment; provide customer service in the photo area.
Handle web pick‑up responsibilities and monitor orders.
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring clean store condition.
Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers; complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and state‑required certification/registration.
Attend training and complete PPLs as requested by Manager or corporate; acquire continuing education credits; maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.
Basic Qualifications
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Three months of experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Strong math skills for accurate prescription counting, measuring, and weighing.
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
