Job Summary
Perform tasks before, during, and after surgery to assist the surgical team, including:
Place equipment and supplies in operating room and arrange instruments according to instructions.
Assist team members in positioning the patient on the table.
Scrub arms and hands, don gown and gloves.
Aid team in donning gowns and gloves.
Hand instruments and supplies to surgeon, hold retractors, cut sutures, and perform other tasks as directed during operation.
Put dressings on patient following surgery.
Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation.
Wash and sterilize equipment using germicides and sterilizers.
Clean operating room.
Cleans, sterilizes and assembles hospital equipment, supplies and instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques.
Stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas.
Education and/or Experience Requirements One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in central supply preferred.
Licensure & Certifications Requirements Requires registration as a Surgical Technologist in Washington State. Must have BLS upon time of hire or within 30 days of employment.
Pay Range $29.22-$44.88
