Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer - St. Jude Cloud Platform
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer to develop, monitor, and support the
St. Jude Cloud , a cloud-based platform for web applications. Join our world-class pediatric research hospital committed to advancing treatments and cures for pediatric catastrophic diseases.
This role involves working on an Agile development team alongside application development teams to establish necessary infrastructure, create CI/CD pipelines for code deployment, and implement proactive monitoring and alerting rules to track platform status.
The successful candidate must be aware of emerging technologies, platforms, frameworks, and methodologies to ensure the St. Jude Cloud platform maintains industry standards. Expertise in one or more areas of our current toolset is required.
Current Platform Toolset Includes:
Azure Infrastructure
utilizing
Terraform
and
Crossplane
for Deployments.
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
for Application Orchestration (supporting PHP, Ruby, and Python).
Istio Service Mesh
and
Cilium .
Docker
and
Helm .
Github and Actions
for CI/CD.
Continuous Monitoring and Alerting using
Grafana ,
Datadog , and/or other tools.
Computational Biology Department St. Jude is a world leader in mapping the genetic landscape of pediatric cancers. The Computational Biology department offers state-of-the-art computational infrastructure, established analytical pipelines, and deep genomic analysis expertise, contributing to high-impact publications in top-tier biomedical journals.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.

Experience Exception:
Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field.
Preferred Experience
Experience with
Kubernetes ,

highly preferred.
Experience in
Github Actions
or another continuous deployment tool highly preferred.
Experience with
Istio
or another service mesh highly preferred.
Experience in

Compensation and Location A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for the Senior Staff DevOps Engineer/Staff DevOps Engineer role is $114,400 - $216,320 per year.
This position is located in Memphis, TN. Relocation assistance is available. Remote work may be available for qualified candidates.
