Overview Marathon is currently looking for an Associate to join our Marketing & Client Service team based in New York.

This professional will be responsible for supporting the Marketing & Client Service Team as well as engaging on projects with multiple departments across Marathon including our Senior Leadership, Investment Teams, Client Solutions & Business Development, Risk Compliance and Legal Teams. This professional will become a specialist in providing marketing content for Marathon's broad suite of products in global credit strategies.

Responsibilities

Creating and maintaining fundraising and fund marketing materials as well as ad-hoc marketing and due diligence materials

Working directly with portfolio and risk management teams to obtain and synthesize information

Prepare communication materials including investor letters, performance updates, market commentary, investor reporting presentations and educational pieces for public and private credit investors including whitepapers and videos

Analyzing quantitative and qualitative information including fund performance and portfolio metrics

Composing materials for investor requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs) and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs)

Supporting senior professionals with strategic projects and market research

Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: investment banking, investor relations, client service, or credit research

Experience working with public and private funds and/or registered funds and the alternative asset management and credit industry preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills with a clear ability to effectively coordinate with a wide variety of professionals within the organization; experience with writing investment commentary or fund marketing letters a plus

Detail-oriented and meticulous in preparation of materials

Comfortable taking the lead on projects with minimal supervision

Excellent organizational skills with multi-tasking abilities to handle pressure effectively to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of work product and adhering to stringent deadlines

Analytic and strategic thinker with ability to assess complex situations, make effective recommendations, and oversee projects through completion

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel

Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background

The average salary for this role $125,000 - $150,000 in base pay and is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data. We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however from time to time it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
