Description Our client supports mission‑critical systems within a regulated enterprise environment, delivering reliable and secure database services that enable daily operations and long‑term modernization efforts. This role supports systems where availability, security, and accuracy are essential to mission success.
Location: Onsite in Lakewood, CO
Pay: $30 - $40 an hour
This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our W2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Responsibilities
Provide day‑to‑day operational support, monitoring, and availability management for Oracle databases, primarily on Windows with some Linux
Perform database installations, upgrades, patches, and updates while minimizing downtime and service impact
Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune database performance to ensure stability and optimal operation
Ensure data integrity, security, backup, and recovery across all database environments
Serve as the escalation point for database incidents and lead issue resolution efforts
Develop and maintain database standards, documentation, and operational procedures
Support development and analytics teams with schema design, SQL optimization, and troubleshooting
Contribute to database modernization efforts and architecture discussions
Manage assigned database projects and deliverables under general direction
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 6 years of experience as a database administrator specializing in Oracle databases on Windows
Hands‑on experience supporting Oracle in production environments, including operations, security, and troubleshooting
Strong understanding of Oracle database security practices
Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of database administration
Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
Customer‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving abilities
Preferred Skills
PL/SQL development or troubleshooting experience
Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and MySQL
Experience supporting databases in a federal or highly regulated environment
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
