The HR Assistant is responsible for hourly recruiting, onboarding, payroll processing, attendance administration, and daily HR operations for an hourly manufacturing workforce. This role owns the full cycle of hourly hiring and supports employees and supervisors through consistent execution of HR processes.
Location:
On-site Schedule:
Day shift with flexibility to come in early for third shift one to two times per month
Pay Range: Starting at
$50,000 annually . Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This position may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and retirement plans.
What You’ll Do:
Own full-cycle hourly recruiting across all shifts
Post jobs, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and issue offers
Manage candidate communication and pre-employment requirements
Conduct new hire orientation and required safety training
Enter, update, and maintain employee data in the HRIS system
Process weekly hourly payroll and audit timekeeping accuracy
Track employee attendance and maintain attendance points per policy
Issue attendance-related disciplinary documentation as required
Maintain personnel files and HR documentation
Process employee status changes, corrective actions, and terminations
Provide guidance on basic employee concerns and policy questions
Track training completion and support engagement initiatives
Support audits, compliance requirements, and HR communications
Administer and maintain the Progressive Discipline Program for non-exempt employees
Review disciplinary actions and termination recommendations with supervisors and HR leadership
Maintain personnel, medical, and terminated employee files in accordance with record retention requirements
Maintain and track performance appraisals for non-exempt employees
Maintain accurate facility headcount and hire accordingly
Process employee transactions including status changes, promotions, wage changes, and terminations
Support positive employee relations through communication and engagement initiatives
Report unsafe conditions, injuries, and illnesses to supervision immediately
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and employment regulations
Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role
Perform other duties as assigned

What We Need from You:
High school diploma or equivalent
2–4 years of HR or recruiting experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Schedule flexibility
Manufacturing environment experience
Weekly hourly payroll experience
Experience with HRIS systems such as Dayforce
