STUDENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, UNDERGRADUATE SERVICES
ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation (MLFC) is seeking an innovative, forward‑thinking, and student‑centered individual for the role of Student Support Specialist. The MLFC Office of Academic and Career Success provides exemplary academic advising and support to undergraduate students. The Student Support Specialist provides front‑desk services, administrative support, and student engagement activities at the Tempe campus.
Responsibilities
Provide oversight and support of the Tempe campus front desk, including office opening/closing procedures, phone answering, guest greeting, and appointment scheduling.
Supervise student workers in front‑desk and administrative activities, including reception, phone answering, guest direction, and project assistance.
Monitor and respond to Salesforce inquiries and other student service requests.
Provide general administrative support to the advising and student success teams, including triaging inbound requests, running reports, outreach, and data entry.
Respond to student questions and concerns, ensuring students are connected with appropriate advising or resources.
Assist with planning and scheduling of student engagement events, as directed.
Create marketing plans and materials for events.
Coordinate and collaborate with other front desks to ensure staffing and resource coverage.
Navigate complex environments, establish effective relationships, and manage evolving priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree and one year of relevant experience, or equivalent combined experience and/or training.
Desired Qualifications
Experience providing administrative support in higher education.
Team‑based working experience with strong collaboration skills.
Effective relationship building with peers, faculty, students, and administrators.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and new technology.
Experience with Canva, Instagram, and ASU brand guidelines.
Experience with Calendly, Salesforce, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office.
Meticulous attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
Effective communication with diverse university constituents.
Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking moderate distances, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Flexibility for alternate work schedules and hybrid remote arrangements, subject to ASU policy.
