Physical Requirements

This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); intermittently standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials, and exposure to loud noises, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people

Shift

Shifts start times are 7a, 11a, 3p or 7p. Shift time availability/preference will be discussed during interview. Must be able to work three, 12-hour shifts per week including some weekends and holidays. No swing shifts or set schedules.

Job Summary

The ED Access Associate acts as a liaison between patient clerical assistants and the management of Emergency Services. Will also greet and provide direction to staff, families and visitors entering the hospital. Also responsible for all patient clerical duties as well as ordering needed clerical supplies, and has some responsibility for scheduling.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Basic administrative skills such as receptionist abilities (including phone, keyboarding, filing, and fax machine skills); knowledge of medical terminology; and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Education/Experience

Two years of college education and experience working in a medical clerical setting preferred.
