Dispatcher - PRN
Location: Woodridge, IL.
Overview The primary responsibility of the Dispatcher is to be the point of contact for pharmacy employees, drivers, and client communities, ensuring timely pickup and delivery of pharmacy orders. The role includes route support, overseeing STAT processes, ensuring accurate deliveries, and problem‑solving proof of deliveries. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of pharmacy operations are essential.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the dispatching of pharmacy delivery drivers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of medications to customers and healthcare facilities.
Manage emergency medication orders and urgent deliveries, prioritizing critical requests and communicating with pharmacies, drivers, and customers to ensure prompt resolution.
Maintain and optimize delivery schedules to meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency and minimizing delivery times.
Serve as the primary point of contact for pharmacy staff, delivery drivers, client communities, and external stakeholders, handling inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on delivery status.
Maintain accurate records of delivery activities, including order details, delivery times, customer feedback, and incident reports. Track and prepare reporting on quality metrics.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medication deliveries, address any discrepancies or concerns, and follow up with pharmacies and customers to confirm delivery satisfaction.
Adhere to pharmacy regulations, safety protocols, and HIPAA guidelines in handling medication orders, delivery information, and customer data.
Collaborate with pharmacy staff, dispatch team members, delivery drivers, and other departments to optimize workflow, resolve operational challenges, and improve overall service quality.
Provide training and support to new dispatchers and delivery drivers, ensuring they understand protocols, procedures, and customer service expectations.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, implement best practices, and contribute to the development of strategies to enhance dispatch operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum one year of experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, make independent decisions, and prioritize tasks.
Proficiency in dispatching software, Microsoft Office, GPS systems, and related computer programs.
Teamwork and collaboration skills.
Flexibility to work a schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays to support a 24‑hour pharmacy operation.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional education or certification in pharmacy technology or healthcare administration.
Prior experience in pharmacy operations, dispatching, logistics, or a related field, especially in a 24‑hour environment.
Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication safety practices, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
