Operations Clerk
Transdev in Lawrence, Kansas is hiring an Operations Clerk. The Operations Clerk supports the daily functions of the Operations Department by providing administrative, organizational, and coordination assistance to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. This role assists with charter planning, organization, and implementation; supports weekly scheduling processes; and helps manage daily operational concerns. The Operations Clerk is responsible for tracking, researching, and documenting complaints, preparing coaching sheets, and assisting with communication and response to the public when needed. This position works closely with the operations leadership team and performs additional duties as assigned to support overall operational success and continuity of service.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Operations team with day‑to‑day administrative and operational support
Support charter planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution
Assist with preparation and maintenance of weekly employee schedules
Manage and track daily complaints, conduct research, and maintain documentation
Prepare, organize, and distribute coaching sheets and follow‑up materials
Assist with public inquiries and communication when needed
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational efficiency and success
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in business, administration, logistics, or a related field preferred
Prior experience in operations, administrative support, dispatch, or a transportation environment preferred
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional interaction with employees, leadership, and the public
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to quickly learn scheduling or operations software
Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and record‑keeping abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to research issues, track outcomes, and support resolution
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to support varying operational needs, including occasional schedule adjustments if required
Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable – DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason
Benefits
Competitive compensation package: minimum $18.75 – maximum $23.25 per hour
Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
Sick days: 5 days
Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating)

Physical Requirements
Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 10 % of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations
Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lb. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise
