Job Summary: The clinical supervisor is responsible for clinical and administrative oversight of the programs assigned. Clinical supervisor will conduct individual supervision for assigned staff, review documentation for non-independently licensed staff, provide coaching and guidance on implementing effective interventions, support community service workers with potential crisis or staffing needs, coordinate with other supervisors in facilitating clinical group supervision, and participate in quality improvement and operational meetings.
Core Competencies:
Knowledge of various modes of psychotherapy and evidence-based practices, especially crisis intervention and short-term models using individual, group, and familial approaches.
Skill in assessment procedures, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic treatment, and case management practices including follow-up and closure.
Ability to establish therapeutic alliance with clients and their families.
Ability to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and with the public.
Assesses and incorporates culture into assessment and treatment processes
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Actively seek feedback and supervision, and engage in personal reflection and self-correction
Acknowledges impact of own feelings and cultural values on practice
Knowledge of ethical principles and state laws
Knowledge of and adheres to state reporting and regulatory guidelines
Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients and staff
Assesses for trauma and engages in trauma informed practices
Formulates realistic, patient centered treatment goals and evaluate progress toward goals
Knowledge of developmental needs of population served
Knowledge of methods of clinical supervision
Knowledge of program regulations, established agency policy and procedure, and applicable government or program contracts.
Job Requirements:
Must be independently licensed in the State of New Mexico (LISW, LPCC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychiatrist or Psychologist).
Have a minimum of two years of supervisory experience
Have a minimum of two years working with SMI/SED populations
