Overview This is a flexible full‑time position (32‑40 hours per week) at Crystal Lake Central High School. The role provides athletic training services to student‑athletes during practices and games.
Responsibilities Evaluates physical conditions and advises and treats athletes to maintain maximum physical fitness for participation in athletic competition by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Performs assessment of injury or condition and takes appropriate follow‑up steps to ensure safe and proper care
Prescribes routine, preventive and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles, increase balance and improve flexibility
Provides practice, game/event coverage for assigned area
Responds to medical emergencies and provides assessment, stabilization and first aid
Recommends athletic participation and return‑to‑sport guidelines
Completes accurate documentation of assessment and referrals
Refers athletes to physician for continued care per protocol
Performs manual techniques and utilizes taping and bracing to relieve symptoms and improve function
Collaborates with sports medicine providers, physicians and other allied health professionals
May work in a clinic setting with a physician or under the direction of a physical therapist
Education & Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of Athletic Training
Certification / Licensure
Licensed as an athletic trainer in WI, IL or both if required
CPR/BLS required within 30 days of hire
BOC certification
Maintains a valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested
Maintains an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth’s HR‑01‑Fleet Safety policy
