Psychological Services Specialist, Corrections – SCI Mahanoy Become a Psychological Services Specialist at the Department of Corrections (DOC) in the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Mahanoy. Join an interdisciplinary team dedicated to healing and hope within the correctional system.

Description of Work

Provide mental health services to inmates, including group therapy sessions and individual interviews.

Select appropriate psychological tests and coordinate with professional staff to ensure inmates receive necessary counseling and medical services.

Write and prepare various psychological reports for classification, clinical interviews, and evaluations.

Work with the Licensed Psychologist Manager to develop departmental education therapeutic programs.

Provide initial crisis intervention with inmates until further professional services are arranged.

Work Schedule and Compensation

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Tuesday–Saturday, with a 30‑minute lunch break).

Telework may be available in some cases.

Starting annual salary $67,736.00 (before taxes). Additional pay considered for licensure in social work, clinical social work, or counseling.

Qualifications

Two years as a Psychological Services Associate Corrections (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal title) or a Master’s degree in psychology (minimum fifteen graduate credits in psychology) plus two years of supervised experience.

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.

Must meet PA residency requirement.

Must be able to perform essential job functions.
