Speech Language Pathologist Job Duties
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
Provide direct therapy in individual and group settings
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student progress
Conduct screenings and monitor student performance to adjust treatment plans as needed
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
Provide staff and parent training to promote speech and language development
Federal and State Requirements
Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
Valid New Mexico licensure or eligibility as a Speech Language Pathologist
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) may be considered
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws
Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by New Mexico school districts
