Villa At Great Lakes Crossing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team! As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will be assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of residents for a shift of duty. Nursing care is provided through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
Responsibilities
Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Ensures assigned work area (i.e., nurse station, medication cart, medication room, etc.) and resident care rooms are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
Takes and records residents’ blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, administers IV therapy as ordered within license limitations, and provides respiratory care such as oxygen and nebulizer treatments.
Charts nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided and the resident’s response.
Ensures the resident’s environment is free from accidents and hazards, and immediately corrects potential safety risks when warranted.
Monitors and directs non-licensed ancillary services as deemed necessary to meet professional standards and maintain the highest practicable level of resident care.
Communicates and reports information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required by policy and state/federal guidelines.
Ensures that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained, and makes recommendations for care‑plan changes to the IDT as appropriate.
Ensures compliance with infection control standards, immediately addressing non‑compliance.
Follows and adheres to company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA compliance.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Must be CPR trained and possess a current BLS certification (from AHA, American Red Cross, or similar).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Gracious and welcoming personality for customer‑service interaction.
Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Understands and follows infection control standards, policies, and procedures.
Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other staff.
Possesses a special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with short‑ and long‑term care residents and the elderly.
Meets all health requirements as required by law.
Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and aptitude for learning company applications.
Education & Experience
Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.
Current license to practice in the state as a Registered Nurse.
Preferably one year of experience; long‑term care experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, and ability to distinguish smells and temperatures— with or without mechanical aid— is required.
Understand and adhere to company safety standards and protocols; limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards.
Meet all health requirements as needed.
