Job Summary Independently performs EEGs, evoked potentials, complex NCS, and routine neurosurgical intraoperative monitoring.

Responsibilities

Perform routine, ambulatory, long‑term, critical‑care, and other EEG exams for patients of all ages.

Conduct all modalities of evoked potential recordings: visual evoked potentials, brain‑stem auditory evoked potentials, and somatosensory evoked potentials (median, posterior tibial, and special studies as needed).

Perform nerve conduction studies: routine upper and lower extremities, non‑routine studies (suprascapular, musculocutaneous, tarsal tunnel, etc.), and repetitive nerve stimulation.

Record, identify, and correct artifacts; label latencies and amplitudes of obligate waveforms.

Perform routine neurosurgical intra‑operative monitoring: lumbar and cervical EMG, screw stimulation, SSEP, MEP, and apply knowledge of anesthesia effects on waveforms.

Develop rapport with the neurosurgical team; train in advanced intra‑operative monitoring procedures.

Participate in continuing education and oversee Level I technologists.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited neurodiagnostics program by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

1‑3 years of experience in neurodiagnostics; at least 2 years required.

Registered or eligible in ABRET EEG; registry eligible in evoked potentials, CNIM, and/or NCS.

Hearing: can hear whispers within 3 feet and 3‑8 feet.

Vision: color discrimination; near vision correctable to Jaeger 2 or 20/30; distance vision correctable to Snellen 20/30.
