Starting salary: $30.00 per hour
Early morning start Monday through Friday, home every night
$4,000 Sign‑On Bonus (eligible if not employed by a Performance Food Group company in the past 6 months)
Position Purpose Food and food service delivery drivers play a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our drivers ensure that customers’ products arrive on time, in good condition, and serve as the face of the company, building lasting relationships with customers.
Primary Responsibilities
Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally.
Perform all required safety checks, including pre‑ and post‑trip inspections according to DOT regulations.
Report safety issues and necessary repairs.
Follow DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines.
Inspect trailer for proper loading and secure freight.
Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule.
Unload products, transport them into designated customer storage areas, and perform damage‑control checks.
Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
Collect money (cash or checks) when required, load customer returns, and secure trailer doors.
Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured.
Completely unload damaged goods and returns, and handle all necessary paperwork.
Maintain daily record of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clean.
Secure all equipment at the end of the shift and complete necessary paperwork.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
12+ months of commercial driving experience.
Valid CDL‑A license.
21+ years of age.
Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements.
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
Pass road test.
Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
Ability to hand‑lift and use two‑wheelers, lift gates, and equipment for product cases ranging from 10–35 pounds to 60–90 pounds.
Compensation $30.00 per hour.
