CDL-A Regional Truck Driver | Home Weekly
Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Home daily. Schedule: Monday – Friday. Full-time, entry level.
Position Purpose Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. They ensure customer products arrive on time and in good condition, building lasting relationships with customers. Drivers operate a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, drive‑and‑drop, and delivery‑and‑return routes, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
Function as a team member within the department and organization, perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer; report any safety issues or needed repairs.
Follow DOT regulations, company safe‑driving guidelines, and policies.
Inspect trailers for proper loading and securing of freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded items.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly, including freight logs, delivery manifests, and daily hours of service records in accordance with Federal and state DOT requirements.
Move tractor to loading dock, attach pre‑loaded trailer, drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route schedule.
Unload products, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and conduct damage‑control checks.
Verify delivery of items with customer, obtain proper signatures, and collect money when required.
Load customer returns onto trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure all equipment and freight are locked or otherwise securely held.
Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or state‑approved equivalent.
1 year commercial driving experience.
Valid CDL‑A.
Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
Must be 21 years of age.
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
Pass road test.
Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure a new DOT Health Card.
Able to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment, moving and/or stacking product cases/freight ranging from 10–35 lb up to 60–90 lb.
