MWBE Coordinator

Summary:
The MWBE Coordinator will support our Program Management Services for a New York City infrastructure project. The candidate will need excellent MWBE compliance experience. The candidate will need excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to work professionally as a team player in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment. Understanding of and a keen interest in the construction industry is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential matters and information
Attend M/WBE outreach events and activities, as needed
Maintain database of M/WBE companies who express interest in the project
Monitor and evaluate contracts, subcontracts, invoices, purchase requisitions, reports, MWBE plans and other documentation for compliance with the program’s M/WBE policies
Develop tracking sheets for program documentation
Perform updates to the MWBE tracking documents – monitor and update subcontractor /subconsultant payments, contract values, goals & commitments
Maintain and update M/WBE data management system and other databases
Conduct outreach and review payment verifications from M/WBE firms
Analyze progress toward attainment of goals and identify ways to improve progress
Coordinate MWBE Quarterly Meetings, update and distribute meeting agenda, and review meeting minutes
Provide information and assistance to contractors and subcontractors related to M/WBE Program
Review requests for waiver from Design Build firms, determine potential M/WBE participation in waiver requests and review the Good‑Faith‑Efforts toward attaining the M/WBE goals
Assist with investigations of alleged violations of the M/WBE Programs, as needed
Provide support with the development of monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports on the programs’ progress toward the M/WBE goals
Function (CUF). Create checklist/documents to be used during site visits. Conduct field evaluations of contractors' utilization of M/WBE subcontractors, as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Computer skills that include operational knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access and other databases
Experience with NYS Contract System (B2GNow) is highly desirable
Strong analytic and computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access queries and reports
Ability to plan work and carry through to completion without close supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a strong client service ethic; keen interpersonal skills; and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at various organizational levels
Education: Associate degree or Bachelor degree in closely related field
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in compliance of SBE, DBE, MBE and WBE‑related program implementation
Candidates must be familiar with New York State and New York City laws and regulations regarding M/WBE programs
