MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME ACADEMY
Nantucket Launch Co. operates two U.S. Coast Guard–inspected passenger vessels providing safe, reliable launch service between private moorings and the Nantucket waterfront. The launch driver is a seasonal full‑time position from June 1 to September 15th. Extremely competitive pay, including tips, and the possibility of subsidized housing for the right candidate. We operate 0700-0000 daily with four different shifts.
Launch drivers must have a 25 GRT master inland or higher; Limited Master’s and OUPV will not be accepted.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Coast Guard License: Master 25 GRT or higher (Near Coastal or Inland)
Valid USCG Medical Certificate (current and unexpired)
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
First Aid and CPR certification
Minimum age: 19 years
Strong vessel handling skills and situational awareness
Excellent communication, judgment, and customer service skills
Limited Master credentials will not be accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience operating USCG‑inspected passenger vessels
Familiarity with Nantucket Harbor and local conditions
Knowledge of small‑vessel diesel systems and routine maintenance
Background in hospitality or guest service environments
