Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the company to patients as part of their routine care or for important health insights.
- This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
- The role involves direct patient interaction, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
- The position emphasizes leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional working environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Keyboard and data entry skills.
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
