JOB TITLE: Assistant Accounting Manager
REPORTS TO: Sr. Accounting Manager
JOB TYPE: Full Time Employee
TEAM: Accounting & Finance
LOCATION: Buena Park, CA
SUMMARYThe Assistant Accounting Manager supports the regional HQ in overseeing all accounting functions of the manufacturing facility. This includes managing the general ledger, cost accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and supervising staff.
JOB DUTIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
- Oversee AP/AR processes, including vendor payments and customer invoicing.
- Maintain integrity of balance sheet accounts; reconcile and review significant GL accounts and prepare balance sheet detail reports.
- Collaborate with production, production support, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Coordinate and oversee cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory reconciliations.
- Prepare the monthly reporting package, including intercompany reconciliations, CAPEX reporting, and cash flow statements.
- Support internal controls and accounting process efficiency, assist in system / ERP enhancements.
- Mentor and develop junior accounting staffs; review their work.
- Maintain accurate documentation and prepare property tax statements with all required supporting records.
- Support preparation of audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications for an Assistant Accounting Manager include the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, especially during critical deadline periods; demonstrating initiative as a self-starter while also thriving as a collaborative team player.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on GL accounting.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP / IFRS)
- Maintain high attention to detail and strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written – Bilingual English and Korean required
- Preferred qualifications include experience with SAP and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and manufacturing KPIs.
