Job Position: HR Assistant – Payroll Support (Temporary)
Location: Flint, MI 48507
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Shift: Full-Time, Temporary, In-Person, Mon-Fri
Description:
Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented HR Assistant for a manufacturing company in Flint, MI. This is a temporary, full-time, in-person role paying $18.00 per hour, with a Monday–Friday schedule (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) and little to no overtime. There is potential for the position to become permanent as business continues to improve.
This role is ideal for candidates with payroll or numbers-driven administrative experience who enjoy working with data, supporting payroll functions, and handling structured administrative tasks in a steady, low-stress environment where accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with payroll processing, data entry, and audits.
Support timekeeping and employee payroll records.
Perform high-volume, detail-focused data entry.
Answer unemployment claims.
Submit and track FMLA claims.
Assist employees with basic HR and personnel questions.
Serve as backup support for HR Manager and Plant HR staff.
Assist with recruiting efforts and staffing agencies.
Answer phones and greet visitors professionally.
Coordinate training, meetings, and employee events.
Maintain organized and confidential employee records.
Additional administrative and office support as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of administrative, payroll, accounting, or HR-related experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with numbers.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel experience preferred).
Experience using office equipment (computers, phones, printers, etc.).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Professional written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Payroll processing or payroll support experience
Accounting, bookkeeping, or data-driven administrative background
Prior HR experience or coursework
Experience with timekeeping or payroll systems
Payroll exposure and the ability to learn payroll processes is required for candidates interested in long-term opportunities with Richfield Industries.
Additional Requirements:
Must maintain strict confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
Clean background check and drug screening required.
Ability to sit at a computer most of the day and occasionally lift up to 20lbs.
Must be able to travel between multiple manufacturing locations (not handicap accessible).
