Position Summary The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct nursing care and medication support to adolescents receiving residential treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This role works closely with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure the safety, medical stability, and overall well-being of clients while supporting individualized treatment plans in a structured residential setting.

Key Responsibilities Administer and monitor medications in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols Perform medication counts, documentation, and reconciliation in compliance with regulatory standards Monitor client health status, vital signs, and withdrawal symptoms as applicable Observe, assess, and report changes in client behavior, mood, or physical condition to clinical staff Provide nursing support for adolescents with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies following established procedures Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation, including MARs, vitals, incident reports, and shift notes Coordinate care with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and direct care staff Assist with client admissions, discharges, and health screenings Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and medication storage standards Support a trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and therapeutic milieu Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical and confidentiality standards (HIPAA)

Qualifications Active, unrestricted

California LVN license

(or applicable state license) Minimum

1 year of nursing experience

preferred; experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or adolescent care strongly preferred Experience working with dual diagnosis populations (mental health and substance use disorders) a plus Current

CPR/First Aid

certification Knowledge of psychotropic medications commonly prescribed to adolescents Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced residential environment Ability to pass background check, TB clearance, and other pre-employment requirements

Schedule & Compensation Schedule: Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon AM (7am-7pm), Tue PM (7pm-7am) Compensation: $33-$35

Work Environment This position is based in a licensed adolescent residential treatment facility and involves regular interaction with youth in treatment, clinical staff, and families. xsgimln The LVN must be comfortable working within a structured, team-oriented, and safety-focused environment.
