Cybersecurity Analyst – Huntsville, AL

The selected candidate will be a member of our dynamic Huntsville team and will work on essential activities to manage and assess the effectiveness of information security and privacy programs critical to the United States Army.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, and assess risk‑management processes to secure information systems (computers and networks).
  • Integrate information security requirements, privacy needs, and risk‑management activities throughout the development life‑cycle of U.S. government systems.
  • Defend key networks through process‑control mechanisms for obtaining authorization decisions and develop technical security solutions for software and classified Department of Defense information systems.
  • Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment, authorization, and connection approval processes.
  • Manage artifacts, establish and monitor inheritance relationships, and collaborate on security compliance development.
  • Assist in updating system artifacts for the RMF.
  • Use eMASS to create accreditation packages.
  • Perform and analyze results of Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans to identify weaknesses and develop operational plans for remediation.
  • Maintain RMF documentation and artifacts, including updating ACAS and STIG scans.
  • Validate technical security controls for operating systems, applications, and network appliances and recommend enhancements.

Duties Include

  • Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and documentation of technical security solutions for software and information systems throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of information system requirements, focusing on information security aspects and authorization requirements.
  • Develop, update, or review RMF documentation, including Security Plans, Implementation Plans, Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and Risk Assessment Reports.
  • Use eMASS to create packages for accreditation.
  • Perform and analyze results of ACAS scans to identify weaknesses and develop remediation or mitigation plans.
  • Maintain RMF documentation and system artifacts.
  • Validate that technical security controls are in place for operating systems, applications, and network appliances and recommend enhancements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3‑5 years of cybersecurity experience with a working knowledge of DISA STIG/Security Requirements Guides (SRG) and STIG tools.
  • Security+ CE or higher DoD 8570 certification.
  • Experience with common programming languages (e.g., C/C++/C#, Java).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
  • Follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self‑starter and problem‑solver who can manage time and expectations efficiently.
  • Experience with static code analysis and dynamic analysis.
  • Travel: up to 5 %.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required upon hire and during employment.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university.
