Position Summary The individual for this position will join a rapidly growing, publicly held company. The position will be based in the company’s largest operating region and offers opportunity for growth. This role falls under the general direction of the National Routing Manager. It will support all aspects of the regional transportation network, including routing, delivery window efficiency, territory planning, assignment of drivers and vehicles, equipment usage, and customer service.
What you’ll do
Conduct continuous analysis of route, vehicle and driver assignments and review scheduling for possible consolidation or improvements.
Assist with planning and implementing vehicle scheduling, resource allocation, routing, dispatching, and communications to optimize utilization of company assets.
Develop route and stop logic to ensure customer service levels meet or exceed company expectations.
Interface with warehouse operations to ensure best-practice truck loading logic is in place.
Incorporate daily and weekly vendor pickups into routing sessions; allocate equipment and driver resources for scheduled and unscheduled deliveries and pickups.
Collaborate with Fleet Team to match available vehicles with delivery requirements and customer needs.
Collaborate with Dispatch for off-day/vacation day coverage.
Review current routing procedures, resolve technical problems, analyze costs, and recommend cost-control measures.
Communicate load requisites, route sequencing, customer accommodations and schedules with Night Warehouse Management Team to prioritize order selection.
Perform daily maintenance of routing data and incorporate real-time recommendations from drivers and sales team.
Print pick tickets as orders are entered and address pick requirements submitted after cut-off times.
About you
High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
2-4 years of routing experience preferred.
Basic understanding of Roadnet Transportation Suite preferred.
Basic understanding of transportation safety guidelines and DOT procedures related to routing.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites.
Able to drive positive change.
