The Opportunity Our client is North America’s leading traffic control specialist. Their team of 9,000+ professionals help secure 2,000 work zones every day – ensuring customer crews, drivers, and our teams get home safely. They protect those who operate, maintain, and upgrade infrastructure in the energy, broadband, and transportation sectors and provide traffic control for major events like the Super Bowl and Boston Marathon.
As the client continues their acceleration of business growth, they have an opportunity for an experienced sales leader. The
Vice President of Sales
will lead the Mountain Business Unit (AZ, NM, CO, ID, UT, NV and NE), own and be relentless for driving market and revenue growth while developing a high performing sales team.
What you will do:
Lead and coach a sales team (30+, including 4 Direct Reports - Regional Sales Manager), equipping them to challenge customer assumptions, bring new insights, and influence buying decisions across complex stakeholder groups.
Serve as an executive sponsor on key accounts, helping resolve escalations, unlock decision-makers, and advance complex deals.
Ensure pipeline health and accuracy, driving high-quality opportunity creation, forecasting discipline, and KPI management.
Build strategic account plans that reflect deep customer understanding, value mapping, and commercial strategy alignment.
Champion talent development, including strategic hiring, onboarding, training, and performance coaching to build a first class sales culture.
Stay close to the market—maintaining expert-level knowledge of utility industry transformation, regulatory trends, and competitor moves to anticipate customer needs.
Own forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities to ensure alignment with West Business Unit + corporate financial and operational objectives.
Be relentless and drive growth in existing accounts by uncovering unmet needs and reframing how customers think about their challenges.
Represent the voice of the customer internally, ensuring offerings, strategies, and investments align with real traffic control pain points and strategic priorities.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in consultative, solution-based commercial sales, including experience managing a regional or national sales team.
Travel 65%
Proven success in driving revenue growth and building teams in hyper growth mode.
Strong track record of exceeding quotas and accelerating growth through value-based selling.
You value and demonstrate a high EQ with cross functional partnership and identify key business partners – get it done as a team – exhaust all resources.
High commercial acumen with the ability to understand and reframe business problems from the customer’s point of view.
Have built winning strategies and can execute the plan – roll up sleeve mantra!
