Territory Development Manager – Unilever Food Solutions

Who We Are Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) is the €3bn+ foodservice division of Unilever that leads the dynamic Food Service market across its categories in 72 countries. UFS markets professional food and beverage products and services to operators and strives to create value through culinary solutions and an enhanced food experience for distributors, operators, diners and consumers.
Pay & Benefits Pay range: $69,360 to $104,040. Bonus eligible. LTI eligible. Purpose of the Role As a Territory Development Manager you will drive sustainable business growth by engaging Operators, Chains, and Trade Partners. You will use data and CRM tools to plan and execute sales calls, establishing yourself as a valuable partner and expanding market share through new and existing customers.
Demand Creation: Operators and Local Chain Accounts Engage local chain accounts and operator customers, delivering business targets for the assigned territory—turnover, reach, penetration, digital engagement, FPO (Fully Profiled Operators), demos, and sampling. Implement a full Key Account Management approach using CBP, Win & Retain funnel, and a contact matrix, executing 20% online and 80% face‑to‑face calls.
Key Activities
Use data to convert business insights into activation solution selling.
Utilize market trends to create concept solution selling.
Guide customers to the right solution.
Network with key customer stakeholders to engage decision makers.
Prepare visits with solution recommendations and use Salesforce to manage workflow and market funnel.
Conduct face‑to‑face and virtual sampling, ideation, and cooking demos using culinary knowledge to secure new opportunities or increase volume usage.
Follow up on previous calls to drive opportunities to close.
Secure and coordinate customer orders each month to meet growth targets.
Meet with distributors/trade partners to expand assortment and source customer leads.
Build and nurture relationships with local distributor sales reps (DSRs).
Implement a contact matrix for key trade customers with a squad approach for effective management.
Engage trade customers for alignment on secondary sales data (SSD).
Implement promotions with customers related to key seasons and events.
Ensure timely submission and settlement of claims.
Critical Skills Required for the Role
You are a hunter with big ambition, focusing 70% hunting vs 30% farming.
You are a fast adopter of contemporary technology, including AI, and proficient in MS Office (Power BI, Excel).
You are entrepreneurial, proactively creating mutually beneficial solutions for UFS and customers.
You are curious, constantly learning from the market and staying ahead of food trends in your territory.
You know how to sell premium brands with superiority stories and culinary solutions beyond the center of the plate.
Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Mandarin).
Essential Experiences
CPG foodservice B2B sales experience.
Culinary/chef selling experience.
Network of existing foodservice operator partners.
Distributor sales, ingredient sales, or broker sales.
CRM (Salesforce) experience.
Operator experience.
Market/geographical knowledge.
Food university background (CIA, Food & Hospitality).
