Job Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) at Saint Joseph Hospital is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients using the nursing process, technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practice, and coordination with other health team members.

Position Details

Shift:

Full-Time Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

36 hours (three 12‑hour shifts)

Location:

Denver, CO

Benefits:

Full eligibility with shift differentials (evening 7%, night 12%, weekend 7%)

Relocation Assistance:

Up to $5,750 for out‑of‑state candidates

Compensation Hourly range: $37.17 – $56.17 (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

Monitor and assess critically ill and premature newborns, documenting changes and responses.

Administer medications and treatments using approved neonatal nursing techniques.

Conduct neonatal assessments, including vital signs, weight checks, and screenings.

Operate and maintain NICU equipment such as ventilators, CPAP machines, and infusion pumps.

Assist with life‑saving procedures like umbilical line placement and intubation.

Educate and support parents on feeding, developmental care, and neonatal health.

Prepare equipment and assist physicians during exams and procedures.

Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Collaborate with neonatologists, therapists, and other specialists to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days.

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of hire date.

Minimum 18 months of NICU experience in a Level III NICU (not open to new grads).

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to see and read patient information, labels, and equipment.

Frequent verbal communication and quick response to emergency situations.

Manual dexterity for precise equipment manipulation, including computer use.

Capability to lift and transfer patients and equipment.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
