About the Firm Our client is a leading national law firm with a recognized real estate practice representing major institutional investors, developers, lenders, and real estate operators across a broad range of asset classes. The New York office plays a pivotal role in handling complex, high-value real estate joint ventures, financings, acquisitions, and strategic transactions for top-tier clients.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities The associate will work closely with partners and clients on sophisticated real estate transactions, including:
Structuring and negotiating real estate joint ventures between institutional investors and operating partners.
Advising on complex real estate financings, representing both borrowers and lenders across various deal structures, including construction loans, bridge loans, and permanent financing.
Handling acquisitions and dispositions of real property across key asset classes: office, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, and retail.
Reviewing and drafting term sheets, loan documents, JV agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and related real estate documents.
Managing multiple deal components and collaborating with cross-functional legal teams, including tax, corporate, and fund formation attorneys.
Required Credentials
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with excellent academic credentials.
4–7 years of experience at a top law firm with a strong focus on real estate finance and/or joint ventures.
Demonstrated ability to handle substantial components of real estate transactions with minimal supervision.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and deal management skills.
Admission to the New York Bar or eligibility to obtain promptly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience across both lender-side and borrower-side real estate financing.
Background handling large institutional joint ventures and capital stacks.
Familiarity with fund clients or REITs is a plus.
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume deal environments and maintain strong client communication.
