As a Virtualization Administrator, you will play a key role in providing support in managing and maintaining the virtualized IT infrastructure to ensure its stability, performance, and security for the customer’s program. The role involves oversight of the on-prem hardware infrastructure, the on-prem hypervisor environment, and CSP infrastructure hosted in Microsoft Azure. Responsibilities

Manage and maintain customer’s virtualized IT infrastructure to ensure its stability, performance, and security. Administer both on-prem and cloud hosted environments, resolving virtualization-related issues, and supporting agency IT initiatives. Contribute to the automation of infrastructure deployment and the integration of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) into CI/CD pipelines. Provide technical support for existing and emerging virtualization technologies and assist with planning and execution of related technology projects. Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual machines, virtual infrastructure, and physical infrastructure. Monitor performance of virtual environments and optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient operation. Diagnose and resolve virtualization issues, including VM performance, connectivity, and security. Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual environments. Ensure security of virtual environments by applying patches, updates, and mandatory/recommended security configurations. Maintain detailed documentation of virtualization configurations, procedures, and policies. Work closely with other IT teams to support virtualization needs and integrate virtual solutions with other systems. Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance issued by the National Credit Union Administration. United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to obtain this type of security clearance. 3+ years of professional experience in virtualization administration with focus on VMware, Hyper‑V, and other similar technologies. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or equivalent professional experience. Experience managing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere environments. Experience supporting virtualization infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. Experience with overseeing on‑prem hardware infrastructure, the on‑prem hypervisor environment, and CSP infrastructure hosted in Microsoft Azure. Experience with automation of infrastructure deployment and integration of IaC into CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, Azure Automation, Azure CLI, PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI, Terraform, or similar IaC tools. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate certification preferred. Will require travel, as needed to customer locations which may include installing and maintaining physical equipment (network firewall, server, storage, UPS); minimal travel is anticipated, and majority of support will be remote.
