Territory Development Manager – Unilever Food Solutions

Within the US, UFS Customer Development and Marketing engages customers in unique ways to generate demand for our professional brands and create long‑term value for partners.
Pay : $69,360 to $104,040. Compensation decisions consider skill sets, experience, training, certifications, qualifications, education and business needs.
Bonus : Bonus eligible.

Purpose of the Role As a Territory Development Manager, you will drive sustainable business growth through engagement with Operators, Chains and Trade Partners. You will operate within a multi‑touchpoint digital ecosystem, balancing new customer acquisition (reach) with account penetration, and use data and CRM tools to plan and execute sales activities that position you as a valuable partner and grow market share in your territory.
Accountable for delivering business targets such as Sales Growth, Reach & Penetration, Digital Engagement and customer presentations with Operators and Distributor Trade Partners. You will execute a multi‑touchpoint contact strategy, both online and face‑to‑face, generate demand for Food Solutions Products, and provide virtual culinary consultation to targeted operators.
Demand Creation Engage local chain accounts and operator customers to achieve business targets for assigned territory, including Turnover, Reach & Penetration, Digital Engagement, Fully Profiled Operators, demos, sampling, and more.
Execute full Key Account Management, implement Contact Matrix, and run multi‑touchpoint contact strategy (20% online calls, 80% face‑to‑face).
Key Activities
Convert business insights into activation and solution sales.
Use market trends to create concept solutions.
Lead customers to the right solutions.
Network with key customer stakeholders and engage decision makers.
Prepare visits with solution recommendations and manage workflow via CRM Salesforce.
Conduct face‑to‑face and virtual sampling, ideation and cooking demos to secure new opportunities and increase volume usage.
Follow up on prior calls to ensure opportunities progress to close.
Secure and coordinate monthly customer orders to meet growth targets.
Meet with distributors/trade partners to expand assortment and source leads.
Build and nurture relationships with local distributor sales reps.
Implement Contact Matrix for key trade customers with a squad approach.
Engage trade customers to align on secondary sales data.
Implement promotions related to key seasons and events.
Ensure timely submission and settlement of claims.
Critical Skills Required for the Role
Hunter mentality with 70% hunting and 30% farming focus.
Fast adopter of contemporary technology; proficient in MS Office, Power BI and Excel.
Entrepreneurial mindset, creating mutually beneficial solutions.
Curious, constantly learning market trends to stay ahead of food trends.
Experience selling premium brands with superior selling stories and culinary solutions.
Bilingual ability (Spanish, Mandarin) is a plus.
Essential Experiences
CPG foodservice sales experience (B2B).
Culinary/chef selling experience.
Existing network of foodservice operator partners.
Distributor, ingredient or broker sales experience.
CRM (Salesforce) experience.
Operator experience.
Market/geographical knowledge.
Food university background (CIA, Food & Hospitality).
Experience in a multi‑national corporate environment.
