This is a full time position with 10-hour varied shifts, including rotating weekends, at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. This position is not required to float to other locations. Includes $4,000 retention incentive and $3,000 relocation assistance to eligible new hires.

The Clinical Pharmacist II will work at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, serving central and downtown San Diego. With the longest tenured Level I Trauma Center in the county, the team at Mercy San Diego thrives in a fast-paced environment and prides itself in its efficiency and teamwork in providing comprehensive care.
As the Clinical Pharmacist II your duties will include:
Primarily clinical based practice demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescriptive authorities as approved by the medical staff.
Participating in direct patient care with patient care teams.
Performing all clinical pharmacy activities and oversees clinical activities of clinical pharmacists in training.
Round with the medical team and provide patient care interventions
Precepting students and/or residents as appropriate
Reviewing and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost. Documenting the care provided to patients.
Supervising the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
Routinely communicating with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
Contributing to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
Demonstrating ability to provide age‑specific patient care as established for area and job title.
Demonstrating ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.

Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago
Candidates with less than 1 year of experience
In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the followingcriteria must be met:
Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offerletter)
Must remain in original department/specialty
Must remain in original Job Title
Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically notedin your offer letter
