Assistant Superintendent

RedStick Golf Club in Vero Beach, Florida is seeking an Assistant Superintendent. RedStick is a Private 18 Hole Golf Club, designed by Rees Jones in 2000. RedStick is open to its membership Mid-October through Mid-May. RedStick sits on a 330 Acre property consisting of several lakes, wetlands, sand native areas, Scrub Jay habitats, and roughly 110 acres of turf. The playing surfaces consist of Champion greens, Bimini Bermuda fairways and tees, and Turf-Type Tall Fescue Rough. A successful candidate must be self motivating, hardworking with a sense of urgency, and able to maintain a positive attitude. It is important that the candidate have strong leadership skills, and is team oriented. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to manage all aspects of the golf course as well as facility grounds. The Assistant will be responsible for the daily supervision of the Agronomy team, including Spray Technicians, Irrigation Technicians, and all full-time and part-time staff. In February, RedStick will undergo a complete re-grassing project. This will include the installation of a new irrigation system and pump station, new drainage infrastructure, the coring out and installation of USGA spec greens, as well as the coring out and installation of new bunkers throughout the course. All playing surfaces at this time will be converted to Bimini Bermudagrass, with the exception of Champion on the greens. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent as well as the contractors to ensure the project flows seamlessly. Ability to obtain a Florida Pesticide License within 3 months of employment
