Simulation Lab Technician
School of Nursing, part-time (24-32 hours/week), non-exempt.
Job Overview The Simulation Lab Technician provides logistical and technical support to the Director of Traditional Undergraduate Nursing Clinical Education. The technician supports clinical education with the majority of hours during scheduled clinical courses.
Responsibilities
Learn and understand the use of all practice laboratory and simulation lab technologies (recording/streaming system, simulator software).
Program human patient simulators and models for simulations and skills.
Create/document set-ups for skills and simulations with clinical faculty.
Help produce charts and paperwork needed for simulations/skills under faculty direction.
Run simulators during simulations.
Set‑up and reset all skills labs and all simulations.
Troubleshoot simulator and equipment malfunctions, communicating with vendor/technical support staff to resolve issues.
Work with technical support when on site for simulator and equipment repairs and video streaming/recording issues.
Develop instructional materials for simulator usage and other lab equipment.
Assist in training faculty on simulator usage and programming abilities of simulation equipment; participate in dry‑runs to ensure proper functioning of simulators.
Assist with inventory and tracking system; act as a standardized patient as needed.
Perform general lab duties.
May supervise one or two part‑time student workers and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Associate’s degree and 2‑4 years of related experience preferred. Excellent organization, communication, and proficient Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, are required. Ability to keep student information confidential is essential. Candidates must demonstrate cultural competence and value principles of diversity and equity.
Salary $16.50 – $16.74 per hour (approved salary).
