Location: 6905 Knightdale Blvd, Suite 106, Knightdale, NC 27545
Schedule: Monday to Thursday 7:00am‑5:00pm , Friday 7:00am‑4:00pm
No Weekends
No Holidays
Incentive $7,500 paid in equal installments over a three-year period.
Summary The Medical Assistant I, Certified provides routine clinical and administrative support to providers and other health care team members in an outpatient clinic setting. The Medical Assistant I, Certified works under the clinical supervision of the provider for patient care activities, and under the general direction of the designated manager/supervisor for non-clinical responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Rooming and intake process, collecting vital signs and data related to patient’s reason for visit.
Collect patient and family data, including medical and social history.
Review patient’s current medication list, allergies and preferred pharmacy.
Assist the provider during treatments, examinations and procedures.
Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
Administer medications under the direction of a provider.
Perform tests such as EKG and eye exams under the direction of a provider.
Review the patient record to determine whether routine health screenings are required.
Ensure exam/procedure room contains appropriate supplies, equipment and educational materials.
Provide patient with after‑visit instructions and educational materials.
Prepare, clean, stock and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
Clean and sterilize instruments.
Assist with patient registration, check‑in/check‑out, appointment scheduling, and scheduling of tests and treatments, and referrals.
Answer clinic telephone and assist in‑basket under the direction of a provider or nurse.
Assist in emergency situations as directed by a provider or nurse.
Qualifications
No education required; completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred.
Medical Assistant certification by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA or NCMA.
Basic Life Support certification from AHA or ARC.
Prior medical assistant or externship experience preferred.
Ability to perform essential functions of the position.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Teamwork and positive engagement with patients and staff.
Computer proficiency for EMR documentation.
Benefits Full time, 40 hours per week, salary range $17.94 – $25.25 per hour. Exempt from overtime. On‑site, day job. Comprehensive benefits per NC Health group benefits package.
