Job Summary The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for all aspects of therapy operations at the facility in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices of the company under the direction of the Regional Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
Provide the best possible therapy services to patients consistent with established standards of practice and company and department procedures.
Oversee and manage all aspects of the therapy program in assigned facility/facilities.
Ensure knowledge of and adherence to all regulatory requirements, company policies, procedures, processes and guidelines, certification requirements, HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and resident rights.
Establish facility-specific procedures in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and train all therapy staff on established procedures.
Ensure therapists provide services in accordance with regulatory requirements, standard of practice, company policies and procedures, department procedures and productivity standards.
Ensure therapists adhere to regulatory requirements and company procedures regarding documentation and billing of therapy services.
Communicate and interact professionally and respectfully with patients and family members to attend to and meet their requests.
Perform all other duties as assigned to effectively discharge the responsibilities of the position and act in the best interests of the organization.
Education & Requirements
Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology.
Must have active licensure (PT, PTA, OT, OTA, or SLP) in the state(s) of practice.
Ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and certification.
Experience with PDPM and MDS management preferred.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal leadership and communication skills.
