Mechanical Engineer specializing in AI&T
to join our team! As a member of our team, you’ll support our client in a vital role in advancing innovative technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking missions and work alongside industry leaders in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Responsibilities: Generate detailed designs via CAD systems and engineering drawings with appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Support space hardware qualification/acceptance campaigns including: Deliver well-written test plans, procedures, and reports Design of test fixtures Assembly and build of test/flight hardware Develop space hardware assembly build procedures Perform mechanical builds of prototype or space hardware Experience working with cross functional teams and a strong ability to collaborate. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience. 3+ year experience with Thermal Desktop (SINDA) and/or Ansys thermal analysis tools (ICEPAK. Fluent, mechanical, etc.) 2+ year experience with test planning, test set-up (thermocouple and heater installation), operating DAQ and power supplies, results correlation and system verification for production Experience in documentation and writing test reports. Preferred qualifications Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical, Structural, and Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience Track record of successfully delivering compelling written reports and complete designs on time, to scope, with high quality 5+ years of experience with Siemens NX CAD package (Siemens NX, NX Teamcenter, GD&T per ASME y14.5) 5+ years of experience in space hardware assembly, integration and test Space hardware thermal vacuum test experience Space hardware vibration test experience Solid understanding of design for manufacturing methods Data analysis/processing capabilities High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive; resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction Excellent oral and written communication skills Experienced with Issue tracking applications (JIRA, TRAC) Demonstrated experience working with government agencies Note: Final pay is based upon years of experience, qualifications such as education and relevant certifications, and market conditions.
