Linton Talent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, highly respected electrical contractor in the DFW Metroplex to identify a
Junior Electrical Estimator . This contractor delivers complex commercial and industrial projects with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and long-term client relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with a deep project backlog, repeat clients, and a reputation built over decades—not a bid-only shop, but a company that builds what it estimates.
The Role As a Junior Electrical Estimator, you’ll support the estimating team in preparing accurate, competitive bids for commercial and industrial projects. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in analyzing project requirements, performing takeoffs, and learning the fundamentals of cost estimation, all while collaborating with operations and project management.
You’ll work on projects that are:
Technically challenging
Operationally complex
Delivered to repeat clients who value quality and reliability
What You’ll Do
Assist in analyzing drawings, specifications, and scope documents to perform takeoffs
Help prepare bid proposals including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Support pre‑bid activities such as site visits, scope reviews, and bid meetings
Identify potential project risks and constructability concerns under guidance from senior estimators
Build relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth transition from bid to build
Track bid data to improve estimating accuracy and processes
Stay current with NEC requirements, distribution systems, and industry best practices
What We’re Looking For
Some experience or education in estimating electrical, commercial, or industrial projects (internships, co‑ops, or 1–2 years in related roles acceptable)
Basic understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices
Ability to interpret blueprints and contract documents
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and motivated to learn
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Bluebeam
Exposure to ConEst Intellibid is a plus but not required
