Position Summary
CMM Programmer demonstrates an expert ability to operate CMM scanners, produce reports, and recommend corrective actions to manufacturing and production personnel. In addition, the CMM Programmer demonstrates an ability to program CMMs and Structured Light Scanning Systems, develop inspection processes, contribute to SPC studies, and participate in correlation studies.
CMM Programmer works without supervision and direction to use predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspections of aerospace alloys for the gas turbine engine industry. Uses various measuring devices to perform required inspections and accepts or rejects malfunctioning or non-conforming units or systems. Works from blueprints, digital models, diagrams or other customer specifications, and uses inspection instructions and checklists.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Develops, maintains, and generates CMM/ SLS (Structured Light Scanning) programs used to inspect and verify production materials and components.
Reviews blueprints and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria following best practices.
Participate in correlation studies involving different metrology instruments.
Conduct quality control inspections.
Troubleshoot and perform maintenance as necessary on the CMM/SLS.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Required Skills
Proficiency inspecting with at least one metrology software including, but not limited to: PC-DMIS, Calypso, Modis, or Zeiss INSPECT.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
